Lesson One Reflection: 30/09/21

This was the very first lesson of M.A Digital Fine Art. I was feeling quite excited about starting this course because I had been subjected to one medium practice in my degree, I was happy to be in a class where everyone specialised in all different aspects of art. Our first lesson was mainly getting to understand the course run through and introducing ourselves to each other on the course. For myself and probably a lot of others I did feel nervous talking about my self, that has never been a strong part of my self however I am a very talkative person that is easily inspired. What I really liked was how we was able to do a lesson with people situated all around the globe. It was so refreshing.

Looking back at my progression leading towards this course is something I would like to look at with this being a new chapter for me. I wasn't too invested with my B.A degree course in photography and I think it was because although it is a medium within art, I was restricted on my elements with it having to be photographically related. In my independent time I was adapting my creativity more but it wasn't so much linking to my degree so this M.A course is allowing me that element to creatively experiment but not subjected to one form or artistic techniques. Not only that, starting my job as a health care assistant during my degree challenged my perspective of art because things that I wanted to express that discomforted me became a normality to me having to face a lot of uncomforting situations daily as a HCA. My conceptions and artistic practicality where both being challenged harshly at the same which was at times overwhelming. I believe this course will even help me address this. Although I have found confident in some series of my art career, I want this course to let me be more open minded of more possibilities!

There isn't really much to reflect on the first lesson as it is an introduction for everybody. However It was for me enjoyable, a new experience has started. However for our next lesson we have to create a blog to upload our reflections and work onto this perhaps as an overall platform to present our coursework. To also upload a 5 minute presentation on a new software site called 'Micro'. The presentation is where we select some of our best work and present it to our so we all get a taster of all our creative styles.
